Welcome to the AAPM Journal Reviewers Workshop

This activity is intended for all members interested in learning more about the scientific value and expectations of the manuscript review process.

The goal of this workshop is to present the fundamentals of the manuscript review process as is generally performed by the manuscript reviewer and editor of any medical, scientific journal. This workshop is designed in three sections. The first section will review the type of submissions a reviewer would be asked to review (e.g., case reports, case series) and their characteristics. The second section will focus on the quality criteria by which the manuscript submission can be rated. In this section, quality criteria for each section of the submission manuscript (e.g., introduction, methods, results) will be described. The third section will apply the quality criteria as defined for a typical submission to the journal Pain Medicine.
