Position Overview

The Division of Pain Medicine at Mayo Clinic Arizona is seeking a full-time pain medicine physician to join its multidisciplinary practice in Phoenix. The successful candidate will collaborate with six physicians and two Advanced Practice Providers in a practice focused on comprehensive and interventional pain care.

Clinical responsibilities will be primarily outpatient, with additional coverage of the inpatient pain service. The practice offers the full scope of interventional pain procedures and works closely with colleagues in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Neurosurgery.

Clinical Scope

Candidates should be comfortable caring for patients with complex medical histories through a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach and performing a broad range of interventional pain procedures, including:

• Spinal injections
• Radiofrequency ablations
• Peripheral and spinal cord stimulator trials
• Ultrasound-guided procedures
• Intrathecal pump management
• Advanced interventional procedures
• Emerging pain medicine procedures and techniques

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited pain medicine fellowship
• Board certification or board eligibility in Pain Medicine
• Board certification or board eligibility in the candidate’s base specialty
• Interest in multidisciplinary care for patients with complex pain conditions
• Ability to educate and supervise fellows, residents, and medical students
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, nursing teams, and interdisciplinary colleagues
• Innovative, team-first approach with adaptability, leadership potential, and openness to change
